SCOTLAND-CATALONIA

Scotland:

The majority of Scottish people live in Edinburgh and Glasgow. They've got lots of historic building, modern shops and restaurants.
For special occasions some Scottish men wear a kilt rather than trousers. The unusual instrument as the bagpipes. There's the traditions in Scotland.
Sport is very important
in Scotland. They practice golf and Highland Games.
Scotland isn't just about traditions, there are some very modern parts, too.
Scottish wisky, a strong spirit made from barley, yecst and water
is the tradition drink.

Catalonia:

The majority of the Catalonia people live in Barcelona. They have many historical buildings, restaurants and hotels. For especial occacions, or celebrations, some Catalan men take one " barratina Catalana ". They have a traditional dance " la sardana ". The sport mas played in Catalonia is the football, since in Barcelona there is the best team of the world in the year 2009 (FBC).

9.BRITISH HEALTHCARE SYSTEM

Most of the time we feel well. We can play sports, go to work and enjoy our lives. Some pople have medical insurance but most people can't afford it and rely on the National Health Service, the NHS. This is provided by the government in Britain. For many people it could be all the need. If you can't get to a doctor, there are two other NHS services you could try: NHS Direct, and others.

8.COMPUTERS IN OUR LIVES

Computers are a very important part of our lives. Kid you know that 60% of homes in Britain have got a PC?
For many young people, playing computer games is their favorite way of spending spare time. They'll even control the way are live.
A central computer will adjust the temperature, act as a burglar alarm and switch on lights ready for you to come back home. Many homes have got lots of televisions and several computers. The smart home will provide TV and Internet sockets in every room so you'll be able to do what you want wherever you want.
The computer will also close the blinds when it gets dark or to stop too much sun from entering a room.
44 per cent of young people between 11 and 16 said their PC was a trusted friend.

7.TRANSPORT

Exploring Mars is going to be very exciting, but for now, it's easier to explore our own planet!!
In London are very different kinds of transport: bicycles, trains, cars......
1.8 million people travel into the center of London by train every day, but more people go on their home in bicycle. The another kind of transport is the Docklands Light Railway. Many people takes Underground, the first Underground when opened in 1863. The other kind of transports is the bus, the buses are famous because is double-decker buses. And other transport is the boat on the River Thames.

6. SHIPPING IN BRITAIN

In England no town is more than 170 Kilometers from the sea. Britain has a very important history of ships and the sea. The British Navy was the biggest navy in the world at one time. In Liverpool there is a great museum of maritime history. It's got several ships in the docks outside. The ships used only sails and achieved very high speeds. The most famous ship was probably the Titanic. It sank in 1912 and over 1500 people drowned. You probably know about it from one of the most expensive films ever made- TITANIC!
One of the most famous shipping companies is Cunard. The majority of people do travel around the world by plane.

5.BRITISH HORROR STORIES

People like to be scared. They love reading horror stories and watching horror movies. The first was published by Mary Shelley in 1818 - Frankenstein. Many films have featured Frankenstein over the years. Dracula contra Frankenstein was made by the Spanish director Jesús Franco in 1970. Count Dracula was a vampire created in 1897. The tomb of Dracula is in Highgate Cementery in North London. Dracula is so popular that visitors to London.

4.LAW

The most famous police station in Britain is New Scotland Yeard in London. For most people the police are the face of the law. They can arrest people in the street. The Lewisham is a new police station in south-east London.
A suspected criminal is being charged with a crime. Next they take frigerprints to check the person's identity. They also take mouth swabs for analysis of DNA. The suspect can be kept in the celles for several hours. Next day he went to court. The three magistrates listen to evidence from the police and witnesses and they decide is the person is guilty or not guilty.

The police officers go out on horses every day. The evidence that the plice collect from a crime scene. Is analysed in laboratories.
