4.LAW

The most famous police station in Britain is New Scotland Yeard in London. For most people the police are the face of the law. They can arrest people in the street. The Lewisham is a new police station in south-east London.
A suspected criminal is being charged with a crime. Next they take frigerprints to check the person's identity. They also take mouth swabs for analysis of DNA. The suspect can be kept in the celles for several hours. Next day he went to court. The three magistrates listen to evidence from the police and witnesses and they decide is the person is guilty or not guilty.

The police officers go out on horses every day. The evidence that the plice collect from a crime scene. Is analysed in laboratories.
